Forget the Tie – Dad wants a Custom Garage!

  • Blog

The garage is supposed to be a place that a man can escape to and work with his hands, but too often it becomes the “catch-all” for unwanted items. Instead of another tie – since he already has 100 – give dad an organized garage that he can really enjoy!

The first step to a dad-friendly garage is to remove clutter and make room for a custom garage organizational system. Get rid of things that are broken, worn out, or unused.  Toss out that old mountain bike with bent handlebars and the chipped bowling ball you haven’t used since 1984. Once you’ve departed with your collection of treasures, sweep and mop the entire area.

Dad isn’t a one size fits all and his workspace shouldn’t be either. When remodeling a garage, it’s important to find products that cater to Dad’s needs. Select products that are well made and are guaranteed for quality. Replace old, worn-out cabinets and shelves with new models made of composite or all-wood. Doors and drawer fronts made of thermally fused laminate, thermo foil or all-wood are guaranteed against sagging and warping.

Don’t re-clutter your small garage by adding too many organizational pieces. Interchangeable slat board wall systems are an excellent way to make use of tiny spaces. Adding accessories like hooks, baskets, and shelves can expand storage from floor to ceiling. Include solid workbenches, countertops, and reinforced drawers to hold and support Dad’s tools.
